Ray coached many sports at Sequoia but is best known for his basketball teams after joining Sequoia faculty in 1927.  He had the most victories in Sequoia history while coaching the four basketball divisions for nearly 40 years.  It is estimated his teams won up to 70 percent of their games.  Also ran the Ray Dimick swim school for many years and taught PE for nearly 60 years.  Was an outstanding high school and college basketball and baseball player in Oregon and named to All Coast basketball team at Willamette University in 1922.  Was Grand Marshall of RC July 4th Parade in 1982.
