Four-time All-PAL pitcher; pitched Cherokees to PAL varsity championship in 1948. The left-hander hurled a perfect game against Palo Alto in 1948 and a no-hitter in 1949. Selected to represent the Bay Area at Yankee Stadium in 1949 after performance in Examiner All-Star game. After graduation, signed a professional contract with the San Francisco Seals and reached Triple-A status with Vancouver of the PCL. Won more than 300 games as a pitcher for Palo Alto Oaks, Ellis Brooks and other top semipro teams.
