A passing tailback on the undefeated 1943 grid team considered by some as “Sequoia’s best ever”, he was a two-time all-league basketball player despite graduating at mid-term in the 1944-45 season. As a “pure passer” during a football era dominated by running teams, he delivered a perfect spiral with unerring accuracy. He starred on two championship teams at Menlo Junior College before service in the U.S. Air Force, and died in the line of duty as a California Highway Patrolman in 1950.
