A glue-fingered receiver, high-percentage marksman and rebounder, and dominating pitcher, he earned all-league honors in three sports at Sequoia, although his senior year was marred by injury. He subsequently starred on the mound at College of San Mateo and University of California, notching 20 victories during his college career. A relief specialist, he became the
leading closer for the Bears during the 1977-78 seasons, and remains active in senior semi-pro baseball competition.
