Three-year letterman in 110s and 120s basketball; long jumper on 1949 San Jose freshman team; graduated with department honors in recreation, 1957, after Korean military service, 1951-54. Earned 42 titles in Masters (over 40) track and field; nine-time Masters All-American. Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Roseville, 28 years (157-acre city park bears his name); eight years on Placer County Parks Commission; co-founder, Placer County Native Interpretive Center.
