Twice All-League in diving and once in water polo.  Water polo team won SPAL and NCS championship and he was league champion in diving in 1960-61.    Was unbeaten in Pac 8 dual meets for four years while attending Washington State on a diving scholarship. Coached swimming and water polo for 26 years at Corona Del Mar HS and his cross-country team won six state championships and eight CSF titles while qualifying for the State Meet for 18 straight years.
