During a coaching career limited by service as a Navy bomber pilot in World War II and Korea, his teams captured four water polo championships and three wrestling titles. A standout swimmer and water polo star at Sequoia from 1934-37, he became a prominent water polo official and sent seven athletes into the coaching ranks during his Sequoia tenure. Performing on the Olympic Club water polo team and Clyde Devine's comedy diving troupe, he became a successful Realtor and Belmont community leader.
